Detailed Description:
The shortened version of the story is that when a beloved pet dies it goes to wait for its special person at a beautiful place called "Rainbow Bridge". The complete version is included with Jill's work by the same name. (This one is for dogs, but she also does one for cats.)
Framed piece measures 13¼ x 13¼ inches.
Jill creates bas-relief, sculpted paintings that often feature stylized images of the numerous cats and dogs that she and husband Steve have taken into their own no-kill, out-of-pocket shelter. Jill developed her technique out of a desire for more depth in surface texture than she could get from paint and gel mediums on canvas. She and Steve work together to create most of the pieces. He mixes the compounds for the paper clay that forms the main surface, Jill does the sculpting and painting, and then he frames the finished product. |
